A Kent family go on trial accused of killing father of five

Four people are going on trial accused over the murder of Jack Treeby who died during an incident in Tovil near Maidstone on 27 December 2009.

All four are due in court today (monday 4th Oct) to face charges of murder, attempted murder, GBH and conspiracy to commit murder.

The defendants are Bill Treeby, 50, Charity Treeby, 51, Billy Treeby, 29, and George Treeby, 23, all from Queen Street, Paddock Wood.

Police were called to Quarry Road in Maidstone just before 7pm on Sunday 27 December 2009 following reports that two men had been seriously injured in a collision and gun shots heard.

43 year old Jack Treeby from Rainham was pronounced dead at the scene.  He died from multiple head and chest injuries.  A second man, Gary Treeby, from Chatham, was taken to hospital and treated for a gun shot wound.  A third man was treated for minor injuries at the scene having also been struck by a vehicle.
