Police were called at 3.35pm yesterday to reports of a crash involving a green Ford Fiesta and a lorry on the northbound side of the M20 between junctions 2 and 1.

We're told the two vehicles left the carriageway and crashed into a field.

The lorry driver, who's in his 50s and not from Kent, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The lady driving the car was taken to hospital and treated for minor injuries.

That stretch of the M20 had to be closed for 8 hours while the emergency services dealt with the crash.

Kent Police's Serious Collision Investigation Unit have begun an investigation and officers would like to hear from anyone with any information.

You can call them on 01622 798538.
