Maidstone Hotel Plans Approved

Initial plans for a new six-storey hotel in Maidstone have been given the go-ahead.

Maidstone Borough Council's planning committee has given outline planning permission for the building based on the Eclipse business park at junction 7 of the M20.

The application was for 150 bedrooms with 173 parking spaces.

It's not known at this stage who will run the hotel and more detailed designs still need to be approved before any building work can start.

Cabinet Member for Regeneration, Cllr Malcolm Greer, said: ā€œIā€™m really pleased that this hotel has been granted planning permission because it will be great for the town. Fifty-six full-time jobs will be created thanks to this permission being granted, which is even better news during these recessionary times.ā€
