Medway School to Stay Open
St John's Infant School in Chatham has been saved from closure by the School's Adjudicator.
Parents of children at St John's Infant School in Chatham have been telling us how delighted they are that the school won't be closing as thought.
The decision has also been made not to amalgamate the Delce schools.
Parents have been campaigning for 14 months to save the school from closure - even taking a petition to Number 10 Downing Street.
Cllr Vince Maple, Labour Group Spokesperson for Children's Services and ward councillor for St John's said; "I am absolutely over the moon. I am delighted that the Adjudicator has overturned Medway Council's decision. The school is popular, performs well, and is valued by parents, children and the wider community, and I believe this support was instrumental in the Adjudicator's decision."
