A 16 year old boy who died in RTC on Thanet Way is named

The 16-year-old boy who died following a collision on the A299 Thanet Way last week has been named as Thomas Brenchley.

Thomas from the Faversham area was riding a Yamaha moped last Tuesday evening (27 July 2010) when it was involved in a collision with a grey Volvo S80 near Dargate at 9.45pm. He as taken to the QEQM Hospital in Margate but was transferred to Kings Hospital in London where he died the following day (Wednesday 28 July).

Police have renewed their appeal for witnesses to the collision, which happened on the London-bound carriageway, just before the Lychgate service station. They are also keen to speak to drivers who were in the area just before the collision took place and who may have seen the vehicles involved as they may have information that will help the investigation.

A 48-year-old man from Whitstable was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving following the collision and has been released on police bail pending further investigation.
