Kent's Youth Commissioner has been temporarily suspended from duty following allegations of a relationship with a married former councillor.
Kerry Boyd took on the role in March after her predecessor Paris Brown, then 17, resigned over offensive comments she made on Twitter.
The 20-year-old former London 2012 torchbearer is reported to have had a close friendship with former Kent county councillor Robert Burgess.
A spokeswoman for Kent Police and Crime Commissioner Ann Barnes said that she was "supporting Kerry at this difficult time''.
The spokeswoman said: "We are concerned that Kerry did not feel able to disclose the full extent of her personal circumstances earlier but as further enquiries are taking place it would be inappropriate for us to comment further.
"As part of our support for Kerry she is not undertaking any public engagements for the time being.''
It is another blow for Mrs Barnes who has been called to appear before the Kent and Medway crime panel tomorrow to explain the fallout from her appearance on a TV Documentary last week.
The Cutting edge documentary has been described as a 'car crash' by rank and file officers who say her performance damaged her reputation and that of the force.
