Situated in the heart of Covent Garden and filled with stunning exhibits, London Transport Museum explores the powerful link between transport and the growth of modern London, culture and society since 1800. Visitors will encounter the world’s first underground steam and electric Tube railways, and discover treasures from one of the most important collections of posters and graphic art in the world.

The Suburbia exhibition
Suburbia, supported by American Express, explores how the capital's public transport has shaped the suburbs and celebrates suburban lifestyle, architecture, design and popular culture through a series of unique displays. The exhibition mixes fun, fact and a little bit of fantasy to rejoice in a place we collectively continue to love and hate.

Previously unseen posters, photographs, early publicity material, signs and maps will give a historic context, supported by film and interviews with suburbanites past and present. The Suburbia displays compliment the Museum's permanent gallery which tells the story of transport and the growth of modern London, its culture and society, from 1800.

London Transport Museum is in Covent Garden Piazza, London, WC2E 7BB. Admission to Suburbia is included in the entry ticket to the main Museum (adults £10.00; senior citizens £8.00; concessions £6.00; under 16s free). The Suburbia exhibition will run until 30 April 2010.

Easter fun for families
During the Easter holidays, families can get creative in our art workshops and create their own gnome finger puppets, funky floral brooches and Easter bonnets with a twist. Little visitors can sing and bounce along to catchy tunes and railway rhymes, and play on real buses and trains.
