15 September 2010, 09:34

The sacrifices of RAF pilots who fought in one of the most pivotal battles in British history will be remembered, with the unveiling of a statue in London.

544 RAF personnel from Fighter Command died defending the UK from the Nazis in the Battle of Britain 70 years ago.

A bronze statue of Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park will be unveiled in Waterloo Place.

Sir Keith commanded the squadrons that defended southeast England in the summer of 1940.

There'll also be a fly-past of 2 World War Two planes at the ceremony this afternoon.
