A jogger who suffered a heart attack in Hyde Park has been saved after Hollywood actor Dustin Hoffman went to his aid.

Sam Dempster collapsed while out running last month.

The actor, who has a house in London, waited with the 27 year old until paramedics from London Ambulance Service arrived to resuscitate him and take him to hospital.

Mr Dempster has since undergone surgery and is recovering, and he has thanked Dustin for all his help. He told The Sun: "I want to say 'Thank you' to Dustin Hoffman. He saved my life. I have no memory of what happened. The paramedics told me I had been saved by Dustin Hoffman. It's unbelievable."
