A surfer has died after getting into difficulties off the coast of Suffolk, police said.
The man, in his 30s and from London, was pronounced dead at the scene after being rescued from the sea off Lowestoft yesterday.
"The emergency services were called to the beach at midday where a man had got into difficulties while surfing," a Suffolk police spokeswoman said.
"He was rescued from the water and treated at the scene but was pronounced deceased just before 1pm.
"The man was in his 30s and from London. His next of kin have been informed, as has the coroner."
She said his death was not being treated as suspicious.
