Mayor's Show Passes Off Peacefully

The 2011 Lord Mayor's Show passed off without disruption, despite the procession passing close to the protest outside St Paul's Cathedral.

Small changes were made to the route of the procession, which normally sees the new Lord Mayor receiving a blessing on the Cathedral steps.  Because of the protest camp, that had to happen in a different location.

The procession - which is three miles long - goes from Mansion House via Bank, St Paul's and Fleet Street to Aldwych, ending up at the Royal Courts of Justice.

The event's been taking place for 800 years.
