A 24-year-old man has been arrested by detectives investigating a fatal stabbing on a basketball court in south west London.
Officers were called to St John's Drive in Wandsworth at around 8.49pm on Wednesday (13 August) where they found a 25-year-old man with stab wounds.
He died at the scene.
His family have been informed but formal identification is yet to take place.
Borough commander Detective Chief Superintendent Richard Smith has said officers believe the suspects were known to the victim and around 20 people witnessed the attack but fled shortly afterwards.
He said: "Whilst the inquiry team are undertaking a meticulous search of the area we are appealing to those who were present to come forward and help provide vital information. We understand that at least 20 people may have witnessed the events, but they soon fled the area perhaps in fear or in shock.
"I want to stress the importance in doing the right thing in coming forward - all calls will be taken in the utmost confidence."
The 24-year-old is currently in custody at a south London police station.
