Met Police are trying to trace a man after a body was found at a hostel in Whitechapel
Officers were called by London Ambulance Service at around 1740 on Saturday, 22 June, to a man found the man in his 40's d at a hostel in Code Street.
Police and London Ambulance Service attended and the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers have told London's Heart they believe they know his identity but await formal identification. Next of kin have not yet been informed.
A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
Police are trying to trace Mehretab Zemichael was last seen at the hostel in Code Street in the early hours of Saturday, 22 June, and officers wish to speak with him urgently.
He is a 42-year-old Eritrean man. The public are advised not to approach Mehretab Zemichael if they see him, but to call police on 999.
