Peckham Man Guilty Of Murder

A Peckham man has been convicted of murdering his flat-mate.

47 year old Michel Oulai of Staveley Close SE15 has been found guilty of the murder of 47-year-old Charles Oppong.

Police were called to the flat in Staveley Close shortly before 19:05hrs on 7 September 2012 following reports of a man injured during a fight.

On arrival officers found Charles Oppong suffering from multiple stab wounds to the abdomen. He was taken to King's College Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 20:10hrs.

A post-mortem gave the cause of death as stab wounds.

Oulai was detained on Old Kent Road shortly after the fight and arrested. He was charged with murder on 9 September 2012.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment, with a recommendation he serve a minimum of 18 years.
