It is reported that Scotland Yard is considering asking people to report crimes at access points in places like churches and coffee shops.

The Times claims the Metropolitan Police are worried funding cuts are forcing the closure of too many police station front counters and there needs to be an alternative.

Critics say the force is showing a blatant disregard for the privacy of victims and that victims of sensitive crimes like rape would be reluctant to come forward to such public locations.
