Detectives in Croydon are reissuing an appeal for witnesses and information after a violent assault on a father and son in New Addington exactly a year ago.

The younger man remains in hospital in a non-responsive condition after the attack in Central Parade at 8.45pm on the 2nd of October 2011.

The older man suffered minor injuries.

Detective Inspector Paul Kerr, Croydon CID, said: "It has been a year since this violent attack on a man and his son in New Addington, but we remain determined to find those responsible. We still believe there are people in the community that may have information that will help us with our investigation and we would urge them to get in touch with the police, or speak to Crimestoppers, which is an independent charity.

"Whether you witnessed the incident, or if you've heard information about it, then please get in touch so that we can bring the people that committed this violent assault to justice.

"I can assure the public that we will treat anyone with information with the utmost confidentiality and sensitivity if they do get in touch with us."
