Questions after attack on Prince's car

Questions are being asked over the way the royals are protected after student protesters smashed one of Prince Charles's car windows.

The Prince and the Duchess of Cornwall are alright after the attack yesterday evening as they arrived at the Royal Variety Performance.

It was 1am before the last protesters left Westminster leaving behind smashed up doors, graffitied statues and fires in Parliament Square.

There have been thirty four arrests. Fifty five people have been injured including a dozen police.

Last night MPs voted to almost triple tuition fees for some universities to £9000.

Student groups say more protests are likely for the new year.
