Some parents in London are paying more than 22 thousand pounds a year for nursery places, according to new research.
The Daycare Trust found that childcare in some of the most expensive areas can now cost more than private schools.
A full-time nursery place for a child under 2 in London is, on average, 218 pounds a week but some nurseries are charging nearly double that.
The charity is now calling for the Government to give more financial help to families, who've been hit hard by the recession, to meet childcare costs.
