Revellers set to see in New Year with a Text

A kiss at midnight on New Year's Eve is no longer enough for party-goers celebrating the turn of the year.

Millions more text messages are expected to be sent this year, with one operator predicting up to 25 per cent more than last year.

Orange expects nearly 160-million messages to be sent at around 12 o'clock on its network alone.
