London's congestion charge could rise by 15% this year.
Transport for London is starting a consultation on increasing it from £10 to £11.50.
TFL says the raise would make sure that the charge stays as a deterrent to drivers making unnecessary journeys into central London. Without it it says traffic levels will increase.
The £1.50 daily increase would generate an estimated £84 million of additional revenue by 2018.
For those using the autopay system the charge would go up from £9 to £10.50.
