Thieves Raid Luxury Knightsbridge Store
7 August 2014, 19:12
A teenager's been charged after designer handbags were stolen in a smash-and-grab robbery at a luxury boutique store in Knightsbridge.
Scotland Yard said they are still hunting three other suspects after designer handbags were taken from the Valentino store in London's Sloane Street at 12.30am on Thursday 7 August 2014.
An 18-year-old was later arrested in Ladbroke Grove, west London, and was charged with burglary, aggravated vehicle-taking, reckless driving, failing to stop and having no insurance.
He was due to appear in custody at West London Magistrates' Court on Friday 8 August.
The raid comes just days after a similar incident at the Larizia store in St John's Wood High Street, north west London, when handbags valued at around £100,000 were taken.
Seven people were arrested in relation to that robbery on July 28 and have been bailed to appear later in August.
Police said it is too early to say if the latest robbery, after which two scooters made off towards Marylebone and a third towards Kilburn, is linked to any others.
Any witnesses or anyone with any information is asked to call Kensington and Chelsea Borough police via 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
