Third Arrest Over Boxing Day Murder
Detectives investigating a fatal shooting on Boxing Day in central London have made a third arrest.
The 24-year-old man remains in custody at an east London police station.
Police were called at 03:04hrs on 26 December 2013, to reports of a shooting at a private function inside the Avalon nightclub, Shaftesbury Avenue, W1.
Police and London Ambulance Service attended to find a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was taken by London Ambulance Service to hospital, where he died from his injuries.
He has been named as Hassan Isman Omer, 31 (16.05.82) from the Poplar area.
Next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination began on 28 December 2013 at Westminster Mortuary. No formal cause of death has been given at this stage and we await the results of further tests.
Two men aged 31ys and 34ys were arrested on suspicion of murder as part of the investigation. They have been bailed to return on a date in mid-February pending further enquiries.
Officers continue to appeal for information and witnesses following the shooting.
