The Archbishop of Canterbury is warning of a repeat of the riots unless the Government does more to rescue young people "who think they have nothing to lose".
Writing in The Guardian, Rowan Williams has called government cuts to youth services "manifestly indefensible".
He also says Jesus would have asked "awkward" questions of all those involved in the protest outside St Paul's Cathedral.
Dr Rowan Williams says he would have asked questions of bankers and demonstrators alike.
