West End parking charge plans scrapped

Plans to make you pay to park in parts of the West End late at night and at weekends have officially been scrapped.

It follows a huge campaign led by businesses and workers in shows, casinos and bars who said they'd lose out and it would put people off coming into town.

The councillor who's in charge of parking has dismissed calls for him to resign and has told London's Heart Westminister Council will find another way to tackle congestion.
