Carla Bruni-Sarkozy makes film debut

The ex model and wife of French President Nicolas Sarkozy has a small part in Woody Allen's new film but she needed thirty-five takes to film a scene in which she leaves a grocery store.

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy is known for her beauty and talent as a model and singer/songwriter, but, it seems, acting may not be her strongest point.

France's first lady filmed a scene for Woody Allen's next film, Midnight in Paris, in which she plays a museum curator. However it took her over thirty-five takes to get the non-speaking scene right. Bruni had to walk out of a grocery store moving towards the camera, but she kept looking straight at it, against Allen's directions.

The veteran director was calm and polite, but according to reports, he was getting increasingly frustrated with the Italian-born beauty.

President Nicolas Sarkozy was on set to watch his wife at work, which might have made her nervous.

Midnight In Paris tells the story of a family travelling to the French capital in the 1920s and stars Owen Wilson, Marion Cotillard and Adrien Brody.
