Christina Aguilera confirms marriage split

Christina Aguilera has confirmed she has separated from her husband Jordan Bratman, but says they remain “committed” to caring for their son.

The couple met in 2002 and went on to marry in California in 2005. They have two-year-old Max together, with Christina often discussing how much she enjoys being a mother during promotional duties for her recent album.

After reports surfaced that the couple were separated Christina has now confirmed them, issuing a brief statement. “Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever”.

It is thought the pair decided to part ways a while ago, with Jordan moving out of their family home and going to stay with friends.

According to reports, Christina, 29, was so busy while shooting her new movie 'Burlesque' she had to spend prolonged periods away from 33-year-old Jordan. Last month, she went to Mexico with a group of women including Nicole Richie and Samantha Ronson – believed to be for Nicole’s bachelorette party – which is also said to have caused tension at home.

“There were already problems between her and her husband, but things got worse after her girls' trip,” a source said.
