George Michael released from jail

The singer has been released from prison early after serving four weeks out of eight

George Michael has been released from Highpoint prison in Suffolk four weeks before his jail term was up.

The singer was sentenced to 8 weeks for crashing his car into a branch of Snappy Snaps in north London whilst under the influence of cannabis last summer.

He has been banned from driving for 5 years and had to pay £1,365 in costs.

Michael said he felt "fantastic" when he was released and that he'd been inspired to write more music, although not about his time in prison.
