Johnny Depp keeps film crew warm

Johnny Depp spent £40,000 on jackets for cold crew members working on the set of the latest Pirates movie.

The Hollywood actor who is currently in the UK shooting scenes for Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England.

And due to the chill weather the 47-year-old decided to buy some warm coats to boost team spirit and keep everyone on the set cosy. Instead of sending the bill to producers, generous Johnny was happy to pay for the waterproof hiking jackets himself, which cost £80 each.

A crew member said “Johnny paid out of his own pocket for all 500 of us to have a nice warm waterproof. It's a great morale boost and another example of why he is one of the nicest people in Hollywood."

The actor has reprised his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in the fourth movie in the Pirates franchise which is set for release next year and will follow Johnny's character Jack as he embarks on a quest to find the fountain of youth.
