Scherzinger at boot camp

Nicole Scherzinger has stepped into Cheryl Cole's shoes as the X-Factor bandwagon rolls on.

The 32 year old Pussycat Doll singer replaced Cheryl at the first of the boot camp shows at Wembley Arena which was filmed without an audience.

Scherzinger impressed during a guest appearance with Simon and Louis during the Manchester auditions.

Last week The X-Factor Twitter said, "Due to unusual circumstances, we are not inviting an audience to watch the contestants perform at The X Factor boot camp next week."

The boot camp will reduce the number of contestants down to 24 before the judges homes phase. It's still unclear if Cheryl will be back for that part of the show.

Cheryl is recovering from a bout of malaria.
