The Oscar winner plans to take daughter on gap year

Emma Thompson has decided to take time off her 10 year old daughter Gaia finishes primary school next year .

Thompson plans to take her child travelling for a year. The actress, who lives in Hampstead, north London, will have to prove to Camden Council, her local education authority, that her 10-year-old will still be educated to UK standards while she's abroad.
