Travolta flies home to attend son's birth

John Travolta flies his plane home as wife goes into labour

The actor was in Australia to attend Quantas Airlines' 90 years celebrations when wife Kelly Preston went into labour.

Preston was at home in the States when Travolta decided to cut his Australian visit short and fly his Boeing 707 back to the USA.

Travolta has a pilot licence and is a huge fan of flying. 

The couple had confirmed the previous week that Preston was expecting a boy.
