Man Dies In Northumberland Crash

One man's died and another is in a critical condition in hospital after a crash in Northumberland.
It happened shortly before 2pm yesterday afternoon on the A697 West Hedgeley in Powburn.
The collision happened approximately half a mile north of Powburn between a Toyota Yaris and a Citreon Berlingo.
The driver of the Toyota, a 68-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Citreon, a 63-year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious injuries and is currently in a critical condition.
Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish the cause of the collision and are appealing for any witnesses, in particular anyone who may have seen the Toyota driving southbound from the borders area.
