Unemployment Down By 9,000 In The North East

There were 9,000 fewer people out of work in the North East between September and November than the previous 3 months.

110,000 people didn't have a job here between September and November.

The rate of unemployment's seen a significant drop on this time last year.

19,000 fewer people are out of work here compared to 12 months ago.

Figures out this morning also show the unemployment rate in the region's fallen too.

It's now 8.5%, which is the lowest it's been in more than 2 year.

Nationally unemployment fell by 58,000 between September and November, to 1.91 million.
