Boys Will Face No Action

No further action is to be taken against two boys, aged 13 and 14, who were arrested over the death of a friend of former X Factor star Frankie Cocozza, police said on Tuesday.

Connor Saunders, 19, was assaulted in West Street, Rottingdean, East Sussex, on April 14 and died in hospital the next day.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: "A 13-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy, both arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Connor Saunders, have today been informed that they will have no further action taken against them at this time.''

Another 14-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, is due to appear at Brighton Youth Court on May 15 charged with Mr Saunders' manslaughter.

A post-mortem examination found he died from injuries consistent with trauma to the head.

Mr Saunders, of Downsway, Woodingdean, Brighton, is believed to have received a forceful punch during an altercation between two groups of people between 10.30pm and 10.55pm on the Saturday.

After his death, Cocozza tweeted: "My life will never be the same.''

He also used the social networking site to ask people to join the Saunders family at the spot where the teenager was killed to say a prayer for his friend.
