Man Admits Murdering Waiter

A man pleaded guilty today to murdering a waiter who was found dead in a flat next to the restaurant where he worked.

The body of Ahmed Remon Hayder, 27, known as Ray, was discovered near the Moon of India restaurant in Sutton Park Road, Seaford, East Sussex, on February 1.

He had suffered severe head injuries after being attacked with at least one weapon, police said.

His cousin, Mohammed Anhar, 33, pleaded guilty to one charge of murder and one of aggravated burglary when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court today.

A second man, Shahadat Mollah Sohag, 21, denied both charges during the same hearing.

Sohag, of no fixed address, was remanded in custody to appear at the same court for trial on August 31.

Anhar, of Gurdon Road, east London, was also remanded in custody to be sentenced at a later date.
