Police Appeal Over May Day Protest

A May Day protest is being held in Brighton on Saturday 30 April and the police are asking the organisers to come forward and speak to them.

There have been calls through social networks for anti-war, anti-capitalist and anti-cuts protesters to join in the protest called "Plans to Party and Protest by the Sea".

Chief Superintendent Graham Bartlett said: "No one has come forward to speak to us about the protest which makes the policing operation difficult and increases the risk of disruption to members of the community, businesses and shop owners and visitors who just want to make the most of the recent warm weather and bank holiday weekend.
