Alongside presenting on television, Surrey-born Nicola has worked in radio for the last three years and will be taking over the Heart Breakfast mic from Lynsey Bartlett who is returning to be a full-time mum.
Nicola said: "I can’t wait to get started on the Heart Breakfast show and work alongside Tom and Jack – it’s going to be hilarious! Along with the great music and laughs, it will be brilliant to get to know the listeners of Heart in Sussex & Surrey too.”

Nicola Hume Q & A
What were you like at school? Naughty, not horrible naughty but more cheeky I guess. Was always on report or in detention! I had the skeleton key to the school (found it in the toilets) and used to lock the teachers in the staff room. It got to the point where my mum would pretty much expect a call home everyday... "What's Nicola done now?..."
What strange habits do you have? The volume on the radio in my car MUST be on an even number. No idea why, it just has to.
If you were an animal, what would you be, and why? An otter, all they do is have fun. Plus they're so adorable. I'd quite like people to look at me and say aboojaboojaboojaboo.
If you went on Mastermind, what would be your specialist subject? Anything on either Johnny Depp or Tim Burton I reckon.
What's the first record you bought? East 17 - Steam, on cassette of course. I miss rewinding my tapes with a pencil.
What superpower would you have, and why? Invisibility! Then I would sneak into places to find out the goss like backstage areas or Johnny Depp's dressing room... not to stare of course.... ok to stare.
If you could be a contestant on any game show, what would it be?
FUNHOUSE!! Bring that show back!!
When you were younger, what did you want to be? It was either an Olympic trampolinist or a bus driver. Yep.
Who would best play you in a film of your life? Either Anna Faris or Kristen Wiig.
What’s the most embarrassing thing that you’ve ever done?
Oooh there's actually too many to just name one. I tend to trip up and spill things a lot. Lets just say my mother in law doesn't like me drinking red wine near her cream sofas.
What do you love most about Sussex & Surrey? It's my home. It makes me feel secure, very picturesque, the people are lovely and there's some beautiful places to get away for a break. Did you just ask for one? Because I can't name just one thing haha.
What were your first impression of Tom & Jack? All I did was laugh when we first met! I knew from the get go that we were going to get along. Jack was pretending to being on the phone saying "Yeh, there's this bird called Nicola here...nah she's rubbish...fit though". Meanwhile I was chatting to Tom about musicals! Superb.
How would you husband describe you?
I'll let Scott answer this one...
"Nicola is a right laugh, she doesn't kick me out when the football is on, she's fun, adventurous, hilarious and layed back. I'm a lucky bloke"

How did you husband propose? He didn't do the down on one knee thing. We went ice-skating outside Hampton Court Palace, then went for a Chinese. We then stayed in an old Victorian style room in a hotel in Hampton Wick and I woke up with the ring on my finger!....I cried. A lot.
What makes you happy? When others are happy. Is that a bit clichè? You can't beat everyone being in a good mood. None of this negativity lark please.
What’s your idea of a perfect day? I do love a PJ day! Maybe attempt a Harry Potter movie marathon, get a takeaway. Either that or a day at a theme park!
