Government praise Chester project

The Home Secretary says a project to reduce anti social behaviour in Chester has been a success.

In her first visit outside of London during her time in office, the coalition government Home Secretary Theresa May saw the 'Safer Stronger' Project in Newtown where 62% of crime is anti social behaviour.

Theresa May says the police have told her the scheme has brought confidence back into the area: "community involvement has improved and the area has improved.

"also they [the police] get more information, and that leads to them catching more criminals which is what we want to see."
