Helicopter to police schools at Easter

Police in Wrexham and Flintshire will be using the forces helicopter to hover over schools to make sure kids aren't vandalising them in the holidays.

Over Easter the Police have launched a campaign to tackle anti-social behaviour whilst children are off school.

They have stepped up patrols to make sure that while lessons have stopped for the holidays, children are staying away from the school grounds.

Superintendent Rob Kirman said:

"Stay away from the schools, don't get involved in anti-social behaviour and criminal damage.

"We are patrolling and we are out there trying to keep their community for when they go back to school as safe as possible."

It's not the first time police have used this technique called "Operation Gingerbread".

Superintendent Kirman added:

"This is a recurring operation taking police through the school holidays making sure there is no criminal damage and making sure everyone around the schools are there for lawful purposes."
