Hundreds at Primark opening

Bargain hunters in Chester have been waiting since 6:30am to be the first into the new store.

Cheshire Police will put on extra officers in Chester city centre on Tuesday as one of the High Street's biggest clothes shops opens it's doors.

Primark is opening up in the old Woolworths building on Foregate Street and hundred of shoppers are expected, some people we spoke to had been queuing since the early hours.

Inspector Ian Thorpe from Cheshire Police says:

"Primark have been talking to us about this situation. They've arranged for barriers to be put in place. We'll make sure that we've got a visible police presence there."

He adds:

"Please, please respect the fact that there will be queues, we just need to make sure that people act in an orderly fashion, and stay safe."

The shop has created 190 jobs.
