Man in court over wife's death

A court's heard how a newlywed killed his wife just months after they got married- then spent the next day with HER mum and sister pretending he didn't know where she was.

Michael Roberts' mother-in-law Janet Wynne-Jones and sister-in-law Lisa Wynne-Jones visited his flat on December 2 last year, desperately trying to trace his wife Vicky, 25.

Roberts, who had been cheating on his wife with another woman, had killed her at their home in Runcorn, Cheshire, the previous Sunday evening

A jury's heard how 27 year old Michael Roberts allegedly strangled his wife Vicky after she learned of his infidelities at their home in Runcorn.

Roberts, who denies murder, began an affair with colleague Kerrie Hall, several months before getting married, a jury was told.

The trial continues at Liverpool Crown Court and is expected to last two to three weeks.
