Schoolgirl "grabbed" by man on way to school

Police are appealing for witnesses after a 12 year old girl was assaulted.

Just after 8am on Friday, December 10, police in Mold were alerted to an incident where a schoolgirl was grabbed on the shoulder by a man.

The 12-year-old girl was walking along the High Street near the Red Lion, Northop, when a man, unknown to her, grabbed her on the shoulder. The girl continued walking and saw the man walk off towards the car park of the public house.

The girl was not injured in the incident, but was left shaken and made her way to a family friend whom she saw.

Police are treating the incident as an assault and inquiries are underway to trace the man who is described as white, between 5ft 3' and 5ft 6'tall, with short black ‘scruffy' hair. He was not believed to be of broad build and was wearing a black coat which is described as a three in one outdoor style coat which had the zip half open. The sleeves of the coat were long reaching to the man's knuckles. He is also described as wearing baggy jeans and black trainers which are believed to have had three velcro strips across the front. The man also had a transparent carrier bag in his hand which had green writing upon it.
