Teenager's ribs broken in bike assault

A teenager's recovering in hospital from broken ribs after being knocked off his bike and repeatedly punched in Oswestry.

The 15 year old was hurt around 8.45pm on Tuesday 6 July as he rode his BMX along a grassed area near Unicorn Road.

PC Stuart Peters, the investigating officer, said:

"The man then got on the bike while the boy held onto the back of it to prevent him riding away.

"The man then got off, pushed the boy over, sat on him and punched him to the chest and face.

"The youngster struggled and managed to break free, picking up his bike and running off."

PC Peters said the offender was described as white, about 30 years old, stockily built, about six-foot tall with a bald or shaven head.

He added:
