Cornwall PC death 'not suspicious'

Police were called to St George’s Hill, Perranporth at around 9.50am yesterday (3 July) by the ambulance service

It follows the discovery of a body of a woman in a property.
 
A unit attended and the body of a 51-year-old woman, a serving police officer, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
 
She was a Custody Sergeant based out of Newquay.
 
Next of kin have been informed.
 
This death is not currently being treated as suspicious and a file is to be prepared for the coroner.
 
Deputy Chief Constable Paul Netherton said: 
 
“It is with great sadness that the Force has learned of the sudden death of one of our serving officers. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this difficult time and her death is a very sad loss not only to them but also to the Force.”
