Bucks man jailed for knive and drug crimes

A driver stopped in Buckingham by police, and found with knives, hammer and drugs - has now been jailed for multiple offences.

Steven Tiffin, 19, of Buckingham Road, Aylesbury, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of a bladed article, one count of possession of a Class B drug, one count of driving a vehicle otherwise than in accordance with a licence and one count of driving without insurance.

Mr Tiffin's car was stopped by police on the Stratford Road in Buckingham on Thursday (7th of March) and officers found a quantity of Class B drugs, two knives and a hammer.

After pleading guilty at Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court, Tiffin was sentenced on Friday (8th) to six months’ imprisonment for one count of possession of a knife, a further three months’ imprisonment for one count of possession of a knife.

These sentences will run concurrently. He has also been disqualified from holding a driving licence for 11 months.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Emily Dover, based at Buckingham police station, said:

“Thames Valley Police does not tolerate violent crime.

Tackling knife crime is a top priority and we are working with partners to take knives off our streets. We are currently supporting Op Sceptre – a national week of action to tackle knife crime.

As part of the operation, there will be local activity across the force, including community education and engagement, weapon sweeps, test purchases and high visibility activities.
