Man Aged 65 Sentenced For Indecent Assaults

A 65-year-old man from Nuneaton has been sentenced at Stafford Crown Court after pleading guilty to two separate counts of indecent assault.

Thomas Mason, of Freesland Rise, was given two 21 month sentences, suspended for 18 months, for indecent assaults committed against a girl aged under 16.
 
The offences took place in the early 1990s in the Tamworth area.
 
Mason was also given a supervision order for 18 months and must attend a rehabilitation activity requirement of 21 days.
 
He was given a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for five years and added to the sex offenders’ register for five years. He was sentenced on 16 July at Stafford Crown Court.
 
DC Nick Gorman, of Staffordshire Police, said: "It was the courage shown by the victim in coming forward to the police which has led to this conviction. We will always do whatever it takes to bring offenders to justice while ensuring victims and their families are offered the support they need."
