British Wireless For The Blind

Living with sight loss can be lonely and isolating – so British Wireless aims to ease these feelings by providing the companionship of a radio.

They have been supplying specially adapted audio equipment on a free loan basis to visually impaired people across the UK for over 90 years. Radio provides news, entertainment and information and, more importantly, companionship in what can often be a lonely life. It becomes a lifeline to the world.

With no government funding, it is only thanks to the continued kindness of their supporters that they can carry on helping the people with sight loss who need it most.

They are a national charity with a regional focus, centred on individual contact and personal service – so all their equipment is hand-delivered and fully set up.
