Search for youths after warehouse fire

Police in Paisley are appealing for information following a a warehouse was set on fire t in Hillington Industrial Estate

At around 1015 pm on Saturday 11 May 2019, fire service attended a report of a large rubbish fire outside the front of Mr Deng’s, Home Improvement Warehouse in Barrie Road, Hillington Industrial Estate.

The fire was extinguished and no-one was injured although there was heavy smoke damage to the premises.

Enquiries have revealed that there were five males seen hanging around the area and that one of the males deliberately started the fire. The males are described as:

1/ Thin build wearing a black hooded top, black shorts and dark trainers.

2/ Thin build wearing a blue tracksuit top with a white stripe on the back and dark trousers.

3/ Thin build wearing a dark top and red trousers.

4 and 5/ Thin build wearing dark coloured tracksuits.

Detective Constable Jamie Howarth at Paisley CID said:“This was a very senseless and reckless act to carry out and thankfully no-one was hurt.

“I urge anyone who saw the group of males hanging around the area or anyone who knows their identity to contact police at Paisley via telephone number 101. “
