The Chancellor Sajid Javid has just announced this morning £600m+ for 50,000 new homes in the south-east - with more than half the money just for transport and infrascructure projects in Essex.

In the county, £218m will be spent on a new station for just ouside Chelmford for the Beaulieu Park development.

Chelmsford's MP, Vicky Ford (pictured) has been campaigning for it since ever since being elected - this morning saying: "This is excellent news for Chelmsford.

This vital transport infrastructure will support new homes and growth in Chelmsford and beyond."

The money will fund the new station on the Greater Anglia network and a "passing loop" to allow faster trains to operate in Essex too.

They'll also be a new link road to connect the A12 at Boreham to the A131 at Great Leighs.

In Colchester; Will Quince MP said he was delighted by the news the Chancellor's approved plans for the £99.9m new link road in East Colchester to relieve congestion in Highwoods, St John's, St Anne's and Greenstead.
