Appeal after gun pointed at man in Glasgow

Police Scotland officers are appealing for information after a firearm was pointed at a man from a car in Pollokshields on Friday, 24 May 2019.

Around 5.10 pm, a witness reported seeing a man, described as being white and wearing a black jacket with a white logo on the sleeve, pointing a gun at another man at the junction of Maxwell Square and Leslie Street. The man in the street in described as being white and about 5'5" in height. He was bald and was wearing dark clothing.

The man presented the firearm from the front passenger seat of the car - believed to be a grey 3 or 5 series BMW.

No-one was injured and the firearm was not discharged. There is no further description of the firearm available.

Detective Constable David Adam, the officer in charge of the investigation, is appealing for anyone with information which could identify those involved to get in touch. He said:

"This would have been a frightening incident for the man who had the firearm pointed at him. This is a busy junction and I am appealing for anyone who was in the area and who may have witnessed the incident to contact me as a matter of urgency."
